How it works

From the group chat to settled, in four steps

Everything happens in the app. Nobody needs a bank in the same country or anything to set up first.

  1. Step 1

    Join with one fingerprint

Tap the invite in your group chat. Your fingerprint creates your account and joins the plan.

  2. Step 2

    Add money in your currency

Type £40, $50 or ₹4,000. The pot holds digital dollars and shows everyone their own currency.

    £40 → $53.89
  3. Step 3

    Spend under the group’s rules

Small spends go straight through. Bigger ones wait for a friend’s yes. Everyone sees it live.

Goes through now · under $25
  4. Step 4

    Settle up in one tap

At the end, one tap pays back everyone who is owed and collects from anyone who owes.

Group rules

Rules your group sets, kept by the pot itself

Pick Easygoing, Balanced or Strict, then change anything. Nobody, including us, can spend outside the rules.

Small things go through. Big things need a yes.

Balanced, the default: up to $25 is instant, up to $200 needs one friend, above that the majority.

Budgets per category

Set a cap for stay, food or tickets. A spend that would go over is stopped before any money moves.

Stay$480 of $600
Tickets & activities$150 of $400
Food & drink$188 of $200
Over the Food & drink budget by $12. Ask the group to raise it.

Anyone can hit pause

Something looks wrong? Any member can stop all spending for a day while the group sorts it out.

Pause spending

Fair disputes

Think a split is wrong? Flag it. The friend who paid can fix it, or the rest of the group decides.

Across borders

Your friends live in different countries. Your pot doesn’t mind.

Send to a friend in another country and they see it in their own currency in under a second, with the exchange rate on the receipt.

Send to anyone, even without the app

Send a link. Your friend opens it, confirms with their fingerprint and the money is theirs, wherever they are. If nobody claims it in 7 days, it comes back to you.

Questions

Good questions, short answers

What are digital dollars?

The pot holds AUSD, a digital dollar issued by Agora and backed one to one by cash and short-term US Treasuries. You see it as dollars, next to your own currency.

Do I need to know anything about crypto?

No. You use your fingerprint. There are no passwords, seed phrases or network fees to pay.

What if someone owes money at the end?

When you join, you choose a small safety net. At settle-up, anything you owe up to that amount is collected from your Plans balance. Anything more is shown as a debt you can pay later.

Can the organiser run off with the money?

No. The pot has no owner. Every spend follows the rules the group agreed, and those rules can only change with the group’s approval.

Which phones work?

Android 9 or newer with a screen lock, for the beta. iPhone comes later.

How do I get money in and out?

For the beta, a friend can send you a link, or you can receive digital dollars from an exchange. Bank and card top-ups are planned.
